Patna (Bihar): Lalu Yadav’s offspring and political contender Misa Bharti, representing the RJD party for the Patliputra Lok Sabha seat, clarified on Friday that her comment concerning the imprisonment of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was misconstrued by the press.
Misa Bharti emphasized the importance of airing her entire statement, explaining, “We remarked that should there be a probe into electoral bonds, it would necessitate decisive actions.” She urged journalists to provide a holistic view of her stance.
She criticized the media’s role in dictating the narrative, stating, “Political discourse should be steered by the ruling parties and the opposition, not by the media’s version of events, which is fundamentally flawed.”
“The Prime Minister and the BJP are persistently using enforcement agencies such as the ED and CBI against their political adversaries. They lack substantive policy positions and fail to address pressing matters such as inflation and unemployment. My remarks have been misrepresented, and the media is propelling the BJP’s agenda, which is untenable for the public,” Misa stated.
Misa Bharti abstained from commenting on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s public engagements, acknowledging him as their “patron.” “In terms of employment initiatives, it was former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav who took proactive measures and achieved results,” she concluded. The BJP strongly criticized Misa Bharti for her comments.
