Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the changing tides against the Congress, emphasizing that the party, once a force with 400 seats, now struggles to contest 300 seats in the current Lok Sabha election. Speaking at an election rally in Jalore district, Modi noted the significant backlash against the Congress in Rajasthan’s first voting phase.
“Rajasthan, a bastion of patriotism, has sent a clear message by penalizing Congress. The people recognize that Congress is incapable of fortifying India,” Modi stated, addressing the crowd.
Modi expressed the nation’s reluctance to return to pre-2014 conditions, attributing the deterioration to Congress’ “nepotism and corruption.” “The Congress, through nepotism and corruption, has hollowed the nation. Today, the populace, incensed by these sins, is punishing the Congress,” Modi asserted.
Taking a dig at the Congress’ internal struggles, Modi remarked, “The Congress party bears the responsibility for its current state… From a party with 400 seats, it now struggles to stand for 300 on its own.”
The Prime Minister was speaking at a rally in Bhinmal of Jalore district in support of BJP candidate Lumbaram Chaudhary. Rajasthan holds 25 Lok Sabha seats, with 12 already polling in the first phase on April 19, and the remaining 13 scheduled for the second phase on April 26.
