In the heart of New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi articulated his distinctive approach on the grand stage of the Red Fort, becoming the inaugural head of state to champion the cause of sanitation and advocate for the dignity of women. Speaking at the BJP national convention in the capital, PM Modi underscored the party’s commitment to amalgamating the dynamic forces of youth, women, farmers, and the general populace in shaping a progressive “Viksit Bharat” or Developed India. He expressed, “We extended our invitation to those overlooked by society, not merely acknowledging them but venerating their contributions.”
Looking ahead, the Prime Minister envisaged abundant prospects for “our mothers, sisters, and daughters.” He unveiled Mission Shakti, a strategic initiative aimed at establishing a comprehensive ecosystem for safeguarding and empowering women across the nation. Highlighting an innovative aspect, PM Modi announced that 15,000 women self-help groups would be equipped with drones. In his words, “Now, ‘Drone Didi’ will infuse a scientific temperament and modernity into agriculture, transforming three crore women into ‘Lakhpati Didis.'”
PM Modi also proudly proclaimed the culmination of a five-century wait with the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, a significant achievement for the BJP. He celebrated the hoisting of the religious flag in Pavagadh, Gujarat, after a lapse of 500 years. Reflecting on historical milestones, he noted the Kartarpur Sahib Highway’s opening after seven decades and the country’s liberation from Article 370 after an equally prolonged wait.
Charging the BJP cadre with renewed enthusiasm, PM Modi urged them to dedicate the next 100 days to connect with new voters, instilling confidence and securing the party’s return to power in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Emphasizing the critical juncture ahead, he declared, “The next five years are pivotal, demanding a significant stride towards ‘Viksit Bharat.’ The foremost imperative is the resounding return of the BJP to power.”
Asserting that the dreams of millions of women, the underprivileged, and the youth align with his own aspirations, PM Modi reflected on the government’s achievements. He emphasized the eradication of large-scale corruption and terror threats while striving to enhance living standards for the impoverished and the middle class. He clarified his motivation for seeking a third term, stating, “I’m not pursuing power for personal gratification; it’s a commitment to serve the nation. If I had prioritized my personal space, providing homes for millions would have been inconceivable.”
Dispelling suggestions of resting on past laurels, PM Modi invoked the principles of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as his guiding light. He clarified, “My advocacy for a third term is rooted in ‘rashtraniti,’ not ‘rajneeti.’ It’s not for political gains but for the greater good of India. My endeavors are dedicated to the people of India; their dreams are my commitments.”
