Regal Leader Narendra Modi is slated to deliver a monumental address at a grand gathering in Assam on the 17th of April. Insights from BJP indicate that Prime Minister Modi will embark on his visit to Assam amidst the jubilant ambiance of Rongali, also known as the Bohag Bihu festival.
The esteemed Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to impart his wisdom at a colossal electoral congregation at Bidanchal grounds in Borkura, situated within the Nalbari precinct under the Barpeta Lok Sabha constituency.
According to BJP sources, meticulous arrangements have been meticulously orchestrated to ensure the resounding triumph of this monumental electoral convocation. Projections anticipate an attendance surpassing two hundred thousand individuals at the rally. Concurrently, local MLA and Assam Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah have meticulously overseen all indispensable preparations in anticipation of the Prime Minister’s imminent presence.
It is noteworthy that, subsequent to the issuance of the electoral notification, the Prime Minister is poised to address an electoral gathering in Assam for the first time. In the interim, members and operatives of the party are diligently gearing up for the forthcoming visit of the Prime Minister. As part of its electoral strategy, BJP has entrusted the Barpeta constituency to its coalition partner Asom Gana Parishad, with MLA Phani Bhushan Choudhary serving as their nominee. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to canvass on behalf of the coalition candidate in Nalbari.
This constituency has remained under the purview of the Congress party for an extensive period. The CPI(M) has clinched victory in this constituency, previously held by Congress, on eleven occasions, while the AIUDF has secured it once. Six leaders from the minority community and three from the Hindu community have been elected as Members of Parliament from this precinct.
Previously, the assembly constituencies encompassed within the parliamentary precinct were Bongaigaon, North Abhayapuri, Dakshin Abhayapuri, Barpeta, Jania, Baghbar, Chenga, Sarukhshetri, Patasarkusi, and Dharmapur.
In the wake of constituency delimitation, three assembly constituencies with a predominant minority population were delineated from Barpeta. These constituencies comprise Jania, Chenga, and Baghbor. Additionally, the new inclusions are Nalabari, Tihu, and Hajo-Suwalkuchi.
The aggregate count of voters within the precinct stands at 19,49,873. Of these, 9,88,570 are male, and 9,61,303 are female. Furthermore, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is slated to visit Gohpur on the 8th of April. It has come to light that Amit Shah will extend his support to the BJP candidate, Ranjit Dutta, vying for the Sonitpur Lok Sabha Seat.
