In Chennai, the Chief Executive of Tamil Nadu, M K Stalin, expressed bewilderment on Wednesday at Prime Minister Narendra Modi adopting a rhetoric reminiscent of the opposition while targeting the Congress, as if it held the reins of power at the center.
Addressing journalists upon his return from Spain, he remarked, “The imminent Lok Sabha elections loom large, and his forthcoming endeavors to attract investments will be arranged post the assumption of office by the new central government.”
Responding to queries about Prime Minister Modi’s parliamentary speech, Stalin commented, “I observed, perused, derived amusement, and found mirth in it.”
“Ever since his ascendancy, he has articulated as if the BJP were the opposition and the Congress the ruling entity,” Stalin noted, emphasizing that the Prime Minister has adopted the posture of an opposition leader, consistently targeting the Congress. “This remains an enigma that eludes my comprehension,” he appended.
Regarding Modi’s assertion that the National Democratic Alliance would surpass the 400-seat threshold, Stalin remarked that he wouldn’t be taken aback if Modi were to proclaim the BJP’s conquest of all 543 seats in the Lok Sabha. “Is the sum total of Lok Sabha constituencies limited to merely 400? There are 543, and we wouldn’t be astonished if he asserts victory in all of them,” declared the DMK stalwart.
On the floor of the Lok Sabha, PM Modi proclaimed that his saffron party could secure 370 seats, predicting that the ruling NDA would exceed the 400-mark in the Lok Sabha polls, launching a scathing attack on the Congress. He asserted that the venerable party is in its twilight and embarking on its closure.
Stalin expressed contentment for anyone stepping forward to serve the populace when queried about actor Joseph Vijay’s foray into politics.
Reflecting on his investment-focused trip to Spain, Stalin disclosed that his foreign investment mission garnered commitments amounting to Rs 3,440 crores, attesting to the confidence multinational corporations place in the DMK-governed state.
The Chief Minister also predicted an influx of more investors choosing Tamil Nadu as their investment haven, given the favorable investment climate prevailing in the state.
He departed for Spain on January 27 and returned to the state capital on Wednesday.
