In the heart of the national metropolis, New Delhi, a plethora of sectors experienced a gentle downpour in the late hours of Tuesday. Localities such as Mandi House, RK Puram, Indraprastha Road near Nizamuddin flyover towards Bhairon Mar, Kartavya Path, and others were graced with a refreshing cascade.

As per the insights from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Himachal Pradesh anticipates scattered occurrences of mild to moderate precipitation or snowfall across most regions in Chamba districts. The forecast suggests the likelihood of such weather phenomena in the Districts of Chamba, Lahul, and Spiti, with Kinnaur presenting the potential for isolated episodes of substantial precipitation. Furthermore, projections hint at light to moderate precipitation accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in various areas within Bilaspur, Solan, Shimla, Sirmaur, Mandi, and Kullu districts, while isolated locations in the remaining districts of the state may experience light rainfall.

IMD has alerted to the possibility of hail and brisk winds at isolated locations in Bilaspur, Solan, Shimla, and Sirmaur during the subsequent 2 to 3 hours. In a climatic shift on the preceding Monday, the Srinagar district in Jammu and Kashmir encountered a sudden decline in temperature due to rain showers in the region. Srinagar reported a temperature of 2 degrees Celsius on that day.

Meanwhile, the mercury in Gulmarg plummeted to minus 2.9 degrees Celsius. A resident, in response, expressed contentment with the rainfall, anticipating relief for the farming community and a potential reduction in urban pollution. The Meteorological Department, in an extended advisory, has forewarned of a prolonged period of wet weather spanning the entire region, envisioning light to moderate precipitation, along with snowfall, across most parts of Jammu and Kashmir until Wednesday.
