In the urban expanse of Chennai, BJP President JP Nadda, during a public congregation on Sunday, censured the ruling DMK in Tamil Nadu, attributing to them a deficiency in sagacity and an alleged absence of fundamental regard for democratic principles. In his oration, Nadda extolled the diligent denizens of Tamil Nadu, recognizing them as assiduous contributors to the state’s accolades. He asserted that the reigning DMK administers the state with an impoverished form of guidance.
The BJP leader contended, “The leadership of Tamil Nadu’s DMK is conspicuously devoid of sagacity and lacks the most rudimentary respect for democratic values.” Nadda expounded, expressing, “Upon my arrival, the markets were in a state of closure, the thoroughfares were enveloped in darkness, substantial police contingents were deployed—evoking recollections of the emergency era. However, I wish to convey that Mr. Stalin (Chief Minister and DMK President), your tenure in power is not enduring.”
Elaborating further, Nadda accused the police force of mandating the closure of markets and bazaars, imposing restrictions on any venturesome endeavors. He raised an inquiry, stating, “Does this comport with democratic ideals? Is this congruent with the historical ethos of Tamil Nadu?” He posited that leaders, such as CM Stalin, who deviate from the traditional essence of Tamil Nadu, should not hold the mantle of power representing the state as the chief executive.
