In Udham Singh Nagar, located in the state of Uttarakhand, Baba Tarsem Sing, the head of Nanakmatta Gurudwara Kar Sewa, was fatally shot on Thursday morning by unidentified perpetrators.
Per the authorities, two individuals arrived on a motorcycle and discharged firearms at Baba Tarsem Sing. Law enforcement officials have deployed specialized teams with the aim of apprehending the assailants.
Abhinav Kumar, the Director General of Police for Uttarakhand, stated, “A Special Investigation Team (SIT), led by DSP RB Chamola, has been constituted by the Police Headquarters to apprehend those responsible for the murder of Nanakmatta Gurdwara Kar Seva Pramukh Baba Tarsem Sing. This SIT comprises members from the Special Task Force (STF) and police personnel. Additional law enforcement personnel have been dispatched to Nanakmatta to ensure peace, while urging the Sikh community to remain calm.”
According to eyewitnesses from Dera Kar Seva, Sardar Tarsem Sing had ventured outside the camp for a morning stroll on Thursday. Two individuals on a motorcycle attacked him with gunfire. Sardar Tarsem Sing was promptly transported to a hospital in Khatima, where medical staff pronounced him deceased.
