Amidst the political landscape in Patna, the luminary of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Lalu Prasad Yadav, expressed the perennial accessibility of doors for Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, should he opt to rejoin the Mahagathbandhan alliance in Bihar.
“In due course, we shall assess the situation. The ingress is perennially ajar for him,” Lalu articulated to the press.
When queried about the potential ascendancy of Rahul Gandhi to the Prime Ministerial role, Lalu extolled him as a proficient contender. “Is there any deficiency in Rahul? He is thoroughly adept,” affirmed the RJD chief. Additionally, he underscored the impending displacement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections by the INDIA bloc.
A fleeting yet noteworthy exchange occurred between Lalu and Nitish at the state Assembly a day prior. Accompanied by his son Tejashwi Yadav, who held the position of deputy CM twice in Nitish’s cabinet, Lalu’s interaction became a focal point on social media.
Contrary to his father’s conciliatory stance towards Nitish, Tejashwi, addressing the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ in Sasaram, rebuked the Bihar CM. He alleged that the CM is impervious to counsel, recalling an earlier assertion where Nitish vowed not to join the BJP even at the cost of his life.
“Our CM is well known. There was a juncture when he proclaimed, ‘I would rather perish than align with the BJP.’ Our collaboration with Nitish ji was a strategic move to thwart the BJP in 2024, even if it entailed substantial sacrifices,” elucidated Tejashwi, steering Rahul Gandhi and other leaders through Sasaram during the yatra.
Following the alliance with the BJP, Nitish asserted his historical connection with the party, stating that he had previously been associated and had temporarily distanced himself, but now, having returned, he declares permanency in his affiliation.
