In New Delhi, despite facing myriad obstacles and a deficit of technology, Indian space scientists have demonstrated to the world that India possesses the resolve, sagacity, and resources to excel in space exploration, according to Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar on Thursday. In his remarks at the launch of the three-day Indian Defence Space Symposium, Admiral Kumar stated that it is evident that in this transformative era known as “Amrit Kaal,” India is propelling forward at a breakneck pace in the space sector.

Eminent figures and senior representatives from the armed forces are participating in the symposium at the Manekshaw Centre from April 18th to 20th. Admiral Kumar emphasized that India’s ability to conceptualize, build, launch, and maintain space assets today signifies that the nation’s potential is limitless.

India has established itself as one of the select nations to construct a comprehensive space ecosystem. Its space industry is swiftly evolving into one of the most dynamic and influential endeavors of the 21st century, offering immense prospects for investment and growth that yield extraordinary returns, he added.

The current state of the Indian space sector and its scientists embody the “essence and ethos” of a revitalized India, one that takes pride in its identity as an “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” (self-reliant India), Admiral Kumar noted. This independence extends not only to hardware but also to intellectual endeavors and actions.

“Despite various challenges, limited resources, and technology embargoes, our space scientists have shown the world that we possess the willpower, intelligence, and means to excel in space,” the Navy Chief remarked.

He also discussed India’s missions to Mars, the Moon, the Sun, and the forthcoming “Gaganyaan” program, the nation’s first human spaceflight initiative.

“Our ability to successfully carry out space missions, our innovative technological solutions, and our cost-effective methods have drawn the attention of those who previously excluded us from participating in their circles. Now, these same entities seek collaboration with India,” Admiral Kumar stated.

“It is no longer a mystery that India, in this era of Amrit Kaal, is propelling forward in the space sector at an extraordinary pace,” he concluded.
