The freshly introduced projectile Agni-Prime, belonging to the latest cohort of weaponry, underwent a prosperous flight trial, orchestrated by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Strategic Forces Command (SFC). The trial was conducted from the locale of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island, situated just off the shoreline of Odisha, transpiring approximately at the hour of 7 pm on Wednesday.
This examination effectively achieved all predefined objectives, thereby affirming its dependable performance. This affirmation is corroborated by the meticulously collected data from an array of range sensors dispersed across various points, inclusive of two naval vessels stationed at the concluding juncture of the projectile’s trajectory. The commencement of the trial was observed by esteemed dignitaries including the Chief of Defence Staff, the Chief of Strategic Forces Command, and high-ranking officials from both DRDO and the Indian Army.
In acknowledgment of this successful endeavor, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh extended his felicitations to DRDO, SFC, and the Armed Forces. He emphasized that the seamless evolution and integration of this projectile into the arsenal would serve as a significant augmentation of the military’s capabilities.
Expressing commendation for the concerted efforts invested in this endeavor, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan and Secretary, DRDO Chairman Samir V Kamat lauded the dedication exhibited by both SFC and DRDO in orchestrating this triumphant flight evaluation.
