In an alarming event of homicide, a subordinate employed in the office of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde was fatally stabbed by attackers following a trivial dispute concerning the settlement of a bill at a Poultry establishment in the Mulund West region of Mumbai on Sunday. The deceased individual has been identified as Akshay Narvekar (30), while his comrade, Akash, sustained severe injuries. Akshay resides in Kisan Nagar, Wagle Estate in Thane, while Akash resides in Mulund West Vaishali Nagar area.
The distressing homicide occurred after a disagreement over settling a Rs 200 bill for chicken tandoori. Providing further insight into the incident, Senior Inspector Ajay Joshi of Mulund Police revealed that the altercation transpired on Sunday subsequent to Akshay’s visit to Imran Khan’s Chicken Center in Kisan Nagar, Thane, during the afternoon. Following the acquisition of the tandoori, Imran demanded Rs 200 in payment. Akshay, lacking cash, offered to settle the bill later, but Imran insisted on immediate payment.
Attempting to resolve the dispute, Akshay temporarily assuaged the situation by transferring Rs 200 to Imran via ‘Google Pay’. Later in the evening, Akshay and Akash visited Salim’s chicken center, owned by Imran’s brother, in Mulund West Vaishali Nagar, where Imran appeared once again, reigniting the earlier dispute over the afternoon’s tandoori payment. Salim and Imran proceeded to assault Akshay, though local residents intervened and diffused the situation, advising Akshay to depart. However, as Akshay and Akash distanced themselves, Salim and Imran, accompanied by three others, pursued and subjected them to a vicious assault. Salim inflicted fatal stab wounds upon Akshay and Akash, while Imran struck Akshay on the head with an iron rod, before all five assailants fled the scene.
Upon receiving notification of the incident, Mulund police promptly arrived at the scene, where the injured were transported to Jupiter Hospital for medical attention. Regrettably, Akshay succumbed to his injuries, while Akash received initial treatment at Sion Hospital before being admitted for further care. The Mulund police have filed charges against the five individuals involved in the incident, namely Imran Mehmood Khan (27), Salim Mehmood Khan (29), Farooq Bagwan (38), Naushad Bagwan (35), and Abdul Bagwan (40), who have since been apprehended and remanded in police custody until May 8.
