In Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir), today marks an extraordinary juncture, celebrated by Prime Minister Modi as he inaugurated an array of developmental initiatives totaling a staggering Rs 32,000 crore. This strategic endeavor aims to propel the region into a realm of comprehensive progress.

Prime Minister Modi underscored the unprecedented nature of the government’s direct outreach to the doorsteps of the people in Jammu and Kashmir, ensuring sustained governmental backing. He articulated that a government exclusively catering to a singular family does not guarantee the welfare and well-being of the broader populace residing in the state. A thriving India inherently implies a flourishing Jammu and Kashmir.

Highlighting the post-abrogation era of Article 370, PM Modi expounded on how Jammu and Kashmir has been advancing towards equitable development, with the aforementioned article acting as a significant impediment to the region’s progress.

Additionally, PM Modi drew attention to the establishment of numerous educational institutions – schools, colleges, and universities – across India in the past decade, with J&K witnessing the inception of 50 new degree colleges. His concluding assertion emphasized that a prosperous India is intricately linked to the prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir.

Modi elucidated that the common residents of Jammu and Kashmir, for the first time post-Article 370 abrogation, have secured the assurance of social justice as enshrined in the Constitution. The global anticipation surrounding the development of Jammu and Kashmir was acknowledged by Modi in reference to the inaugurated or foundation-stone-laid projects. He characterized the day as momentous for the region, predicting that the initiatives would propel holistic development.

The prime minister noted a record surge in educational institutions across India over the last decade, with Jammu and Kashmir alone witnessing the establishment of 50 new degree colleges. The spectrum of development projects launched or initiated by Modi spans the realms of education, railways, aviation, and road sectors in Jammu and Kashmir.

While projects for other regions of the country encompass IITs, IIMs, and central universities, Modi also personally handed out appointment letters to approximately 1,500 newly recruited government employees in Jammu and Kashmir. As part of the ‘Viksit Bharat, Viksit Jammu’ program, he engaged with the beneficiaries of various schemes, fostering a direct connection with the positive outcomes of the initiatives.
