In Jaipur, Rajasthan, Sonia Gandhi, former head of the Congress, launched a scathing critique against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleging his endeavors aim at dismantling the democratic framework of the nation.
Addressing a gathering at Vidyadhar Nagar Stadium, where the Congress unfurled its electoral manifesto, Sonia Gandhi, a Rajya Sabha representative from Rajasthan, articulated her concerns. Alongside her were Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge and Priyanka Gandhi.
Sonia Gandhi articulated, “Modi perceives himself as transcending the nation’s interests, actively eroding democratic principles. By exalting his own stature, such leaders instigate an aura of intimidation.” She emphasized her point, being the spouse of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
Expanding on her stance, Sonia Gandhi lamented the stagnation prevailing over the past decade under the incumbency of a regime that, she asserted, has exacerbated unemployment and fostered economic turmoil.
Mallikarjun Kharge echoed similar sentiments, accusing the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi of incessantly disparaging the Congress’s legacy spanning seven decades. “We stand prepared to render an account of our endeavors. Conversely, the BJP and Prime Minister Modi have persistently vilified the Gandhi family over the last decade,” he proclaimed.
Kharge asserted Modi’s elevation beyond the confines of his party, noting the omnipresence of Modi-centric rhetoric. He contended that the term “guarantee,” once emblematic of Congress, has been appropriated by the BJP.
Furthermore, Kharge alleged that Modi is capitalizing on the infrastructure established by Congress during its tenure of 70 years.
In a similar vein, Priyanka Gandhi-Vadra decried the escalating unemployment over the past decade. She lamented the discontinuation of the Chiranjeevi Yojana, an initiative aimed at providing extensive healthcare coverage, subsequent to the change in government.
Rajasthan Congress chief Govind Singh Dotasara lambasted the BJP, highlighting the absence of any commitment from the Prime Minister regarding Minimum Support Price (MSP) for farmers.
