In Agartala, gratitude emanates from Chief Minister Manik Saha towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for endorsing a substantial grant of Rs 20 crore, earmarked for augmenting infrastructural development at the state-administered MBB University. The nod from the Union Ministry of Education extends financial support to 78 universities across the nation, including the esteemed MBB University, as part of the Prime Minister Uchahatar Siksha Abhiyan (PM-USHA) aimed at fortifying institutional infrastructure.

Expressing his appreciation in a Facebook post, Saha articulated, “The Union Ministry of Education has greenlit a financial infusion of Rs 20 crore to fortify the infrastructure of MBB University within the purview of the PM-USHA Scheme. My sincere gratitude extends to PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji & Union Minister for Education Shri Dharmendra Pradhan Ji for this commendable grant.” The inception of MBB University dates back to the academic session of 2016-17, offering a spectrum of five postgraduate and two integrated master’s degree programs.

In a prior instance, the Chief Minister extolled the prime minister and Union Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Puri for allocating a substantial sum of Rs 419 crore to the northeastern state, earmarked for urban development. Taking to social media on Thursday, Saha elucidated that the Government of India has sanctioned Rs 419 crore for Tripura under the aegis of Special Assistance to Capital Incentives (Urban planning reforms) 2023-24.

“The initial disbursement of Rs 83.80 crore, designated for capital expenditure projects within the urban sector, has already been dispensed. I extend my heartfelt thanks to Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji & Hon’ble UM Shri Hardeep Singh Puri Ji for this generous allocation fostering the developmental trajectory of Tripura,” he articulated.
