Bengaluru (Karnataka): CID investigators are delving into the case involving allegations against former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa for purportedly assaulting a minor. On Friday, officials obtained an audio sample from Yeddyurappa. The complaint stems from a mother asserting that her daughter experienced harassment during a visit to Yeddyurappa’s residence on February 2.

The mother presented evidentiary video and audio materials connected to the matter. An FIR was filed on March 14 at Sadashivanagar police station under Section 8 of the POCSO Act and Section 354(A) of the IPC.

Subsequently, the Karnataka administration transferred the inquiry to CID authorities. The CID has commenced its investigation by taking the girl’s statement before a judge under CrPC 164. Following that, a notification was dispatched to Yediyurappa to acquire the audio recording.

Yeddyurappa appeared at the CID office on Palace Road on Friday to comply with the investigation. His voice was recorded and he was released afterward, according to insiders.

After the case was officially logged on March 14, Yediyurappa declared, “A woman has lodged a complaint against me, leading to a POCSO case. I will address the situation in accordance with legal procedures. I have not insinuated any political agenda behind the allegations.”
