In the impending Lok Sabha electoral fervor, both the BJP and Congress have intensified their efforts to canvass in the hometown of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gujarat. Rahul Gandhi, the erstwhile leader of Congress, is set to embark on a four-day sojourn in Gujarat starting March 7, as part of his ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.’
The detailed itinerary for the Congress leader unfolds as follows:
March 7, Friday: Rahul Gandhi will ingress into Gujarat from Jalod in Dahod at 3 pm on March 7, participating in the flag-transfer ceremony and subsequently lodging for the night near Jalod bypass. Enthusiastic followers will extend their greetings at over 70 locations, with Gandhi addressing six public gatherings and engaging in 27 corner meetings, as per the directives of Doshi.
Gandhi will pay homage to Govind Guru, a tribal luminary of the liberation movement, at his “samadhi” in Kamboi Dham, Jhalod taluka, inaugurating the Gujarat leg of the yatra, reveals state Congress spokesperson Manish Doshi.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) state branch has confirmed its acceptance of the Congress’ invitation to partake in the yatra. The AAP and Congress have forged an alliance for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Gujarat. Isudan Gadhvi, the state president of AAP, is scheduled to join the yatra on March 7.
March 8, Friday: Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra will commence from the Dahod bus stand at 8 am, gracing the Birsa Munda Chowk and proceeding to Piplod.
Participating in the padyatra from Godhra bus stand at 11 am, Gandhi will address the gathering before the yatra resumes from Congress Bhawan in Kalol, Panchmahal, at 2 pm.
Following the travel from the Halol Bus Stand of Panchmahal to the Maharana Pratap Chowk, Gandhi will address a public meeting. Subsequently, the yatra will be received in Pavagadh, Shivrajpur, Jambughoda, and Panchmahal. Gandhi will lodge in Jambughoda on Friday night, March 8.
March 9, Saturday: On Saturday, March 9, Gandhi’s yatra will reach Chhotaudepur, initiating from the Alipura Bodeli Circle. Welcomed at the Akteswar Chowk, Naswadi, and Narmada, he will partake in a padyatra at the Santosh Chowkdi of Rajpipla, addressing a public meeting thereafter.
Post-lunch, Gandhi will recommence the yatra from Netrang in Bharuch at 2.30 pm, traversing Netrang Char Rasta and Jhankhawav in Mangrol, Surat. Gandhi is set to lodge near the Malda Fata Char Rasta on Friday night.
March 10, Sunday: Gandhi’s expedition will commence on Sunday, March 10, at 8 am from Mandvi in Surat. Welcomed near the bus stand, Char Rasta, he will progress to Amar Jawan Chowk in Bardoli, Surat, addressing a public meeting at the Sardar Chowk in Bardoli later on.
