In the urban expanse of Kolkata, located in the state of West Bengal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is poised to inaugurate the foundational commencement for the revamping of 28 railway stations within the Eastern Railway domain, encompassing West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Bihar. This initiative falls under the ambit of the ‘Amrit Bharat Station Scheme,’ as elucidated by a distinguished official.
This transformative endeavor encompasses a spectrum of more than 550 railway stations, each earmarked for foundational enhancement under the aegis of the aforementioned scheme, as articulated by the same official. Among the designated 28 stations awaiting redevelopment, West Bengal houses 17, Jharkhand accommodates seven, and Bihar hosts four.
Employing the virtual realm as a conduit, Prime Minister Modi will ceremoniously lay the foundation stone for the metamorphosis of the aforementioned 28 stations situated within the Eastern Railway jurisdiction, extending across the states of West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Bihar, according to the official statement.
The financial outlay for the redevelopment of these 28 stations is estimated to be a substantial Rs 704 crore, as disclosed by the official source. On this momentous occasion, West Bengal Governor C V Ananda Bose will partake in a program at Bandel station, slated to receive the lion’s share of financial infusion. This infusion, amounting to an approximate sum of Rs 307 crore, is earmarked for a comprehensive redevelopment initiative, envisaging the transformation of Bandel station into a station of global eminence.
