In the aftermath of the explosive incident at Rameshwaram Cafe in Bengaluru, Raghavendra Rao, the co-founder and CEO of the establishment, emphasized the imperative role of both the Union government and the state government in averting future occurrences of such nature. He ardently called for stringent measures to be taken.
Following an explosion at the eatery on Friday, a minimum of ten individuals sustained injuries, currently undergoing medical attention. Raghavendra conveyed his appeal to the government of Karnataka and India, urging them to ensure the prevention of such incidents nationwide. He expressed solidarity with those affected, extending heartfelt regards to the injured patrons and staff.
Offering empathy, Raghavendra stated, “I extend my sincere thoughts to those who have suffered injuries. It is crucial to convey our unwavering support to them and their families.” Addressing the severity of the situation, he mentioned, “A woman has tragically lost her vision, and our support extends to her. We stand by our severely injured staff members, a group of four or five individuals. Seeking your blessings, we aim to showcase the resilience of youth and proclaim our identity as proud Indians. Our relaunch on Friday will be marked by a significant impact, and we seek the support of all.”
Simultaneously, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah visited the injured individuals at hospitals in Bengaluru on Saturday, assuring them of the government’s coverage of medical expenses.
Siddaramaiah affirmed, “All medical costs for the treatment of the injured will be borne by the government. Approximately ten individuals are currently receiving treatment, three at Brookfield Hospital and six at Vydehi Hospital. I will personally visit both locations. The patients are making progress and responding positively to the medical interventions.”
The chief minister inspected the blast site at the popular Whitefield-area eatery on March 1. Dr. Pradeep Kumar, the Medical Director of Brookfield Hospital, expressed satisfaction with the overall progress of the three patients under their care. Notably, one patient in the ICU faced post-operative challenges, including low blood pressure and elevated blood sugar levels. However, the patient’s overall condition is improving, and psychological support is being provided to enhance confidence and alleviate stress. The other patients are expected to be discharged within the next 24-48 hours.
Former Karnataka Chief Minister Basavraj Bommai strongly criticized the Congress in connection with the blast, alleging support for anti-national elements from leaders within the ruling party.
Bommai asserted, “From the outset, this government has faltered in upholding law and order. Leaders of the ruling party are providing substantial support to anti-national elements, leading to a decline in police morale. Corruption in police transfers has placed inefficient individuals in crucial roles. The city now harbors various antisocial elements, emboldened to carry out bombings in Bengaluru. There is a nexus with terrorist elements, and sleeper cells may be present. During our tenure, we identified and incarcerated 15 such sleeper cells. The appeasement politics of the current government has contributed to this state of affairs. The case should be handed over to the NIA, and if not, the government should step down.”
