Ranchi is gearing up for a significant political event as the top leaders of the INDIA bloc are set to convene a mega rally named ‘Ulgulan Nyay’ on Sunday, ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
“Our struggle is against the autocracy of the BJP. They are stifling the voices of Opposition parties, aiming to silence us,” expressed Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi, just before embarking on her journey to the rally.
Upon his arrival at the Ranchi airport, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav voiced, “To preserve democracy, BJP must be ousted. The India bloc stands united, and the people of Jharkhand are poised to seek justice for the injustices inflicted upon Hemant Soren.”
An array of prominent Opposition figures, including Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Jharkhand CM Champai Soren, and Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, are slated to grace the occasion. The central focus of discussions will revolve around the recent arrests of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren. Notably, their wives, Sunita Kejriwal and Kalpana Soren, are also expected to participate.
Personally overseeing the arrangements, CM Champai Soren visited the venue yesterday, emphasizing the Modi government’s attempts to stifle Opposition voices. He underscored that the primary objective of the ‘Ulgulan Nyay Rally’ is to oppose the dictatorial tendencies of the Centre. In the wake of Hemant Soren’s arrest, JMM leaders and workers have been conducting a ‘Nyaya Yatra’ at the village and panchayat levels, culminating in this mega rally.
The event is set to take place at the sprawling Prabhat Tara Ground in Ranchi. A JMM leader responsible for overseeing the pandal and electrical work revealed that the main dais spans 40 meters in length and 20 meters in width, with two supporting platforms measuring (30×15) meters each. Additionally, a primary pandal (40×150 meters) and two adjoining pandals (30×150 meters) have been erected to provide respite to the public and party workers attending the rally amidst the scorching heat. Over 20 giant screens have been strategically installed across the premises.
Joining the rally will be other notable leaders, including former Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav, former deputy CM Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, National Conference’s Farooq Abdullah, CPI(ML)’s Dipankar Bhattacharya, RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, and AAP MP Sanjay Singh.
Furthermore, TMC leader Derek O’Brien and RJD Rajya Sabha member Manoj Jha are expected to make their presence felt at the event. The rally will also witness the participation of all JMM, Congress, and RJD ministers from the Jharkhand government.
