In a recent development, Adani Green Energy Ltd has announced the inauguration of 2,000 megawatts (MW) of solar capacity at the expansive Khavda solar park located in Gujarat. This significant achievement propels the company to the forefront as the premier entity in India boasting a renewable energy capacity exceeding 10,000 MW. Presently, Adani Green Energy stands as the proprietor of an operational portfolio totaling 10,934 MW, thus securing its position as the largest player in India’s renewable energy sector.

The fiscal year 2024 witnessed the integration of an additional 2,848 MW of renewable energy capacity into the company’s infrastructure, as stated in an official communication by Adani Green Energy. The operational portfolio of Adani Green Energy encompasses 7,393 MW of solar power, 1,401 MW of wind power, and 2,140 MW of wind-solar hybrid capacity. With a forward-looking vision, the company is striving to achieve a remarkable milestone of 45 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy by the year 2030. The operational portfolio, currently standing at 10,934 MW, is anticipated to cater to the energy needs of more than 5.8 million households and mitigate approximately 21 million tonnes of CO2 emissions annually, as highlighted in the company’s statement.

Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, expressed pride in Adani Green Energy’s pioneering status in India’s renewable energy landscape, stating, “We take pride in our distinction as India’s foremost trailblazer in the renewables arena.” He further articulated, “In a span of less than a decade, Adani Green Energy has not only envisaged a greener tomorrow but has also translated this vision into reality, progressing from conceptualization of clean energy exploration to achieving a remarkable 10,000 MW in installed capacity. This milestone exemplifies the celerity and magnitude with which the Adani Group endeavors to facilitate India’s transition to clean, dependable, and economical energy sources.”

Elaborating on the company’s ambitious targets, Adani remarked, “As part of our endeavor to achieve 45,000 MW (45 GW) by 2030, we are in the process of establishing the world’s largest renewable energy facility in Khavda — a project spanning 30,000 MW that stands unparalleled on the global stage. Adani Green Energy is not merely establishing standards for the world; it is redefining them,” he concluded.
