Amidst endeavors to mitigate instances of irregular commuting in AC local trains and premier carriages, the Central Railway has established an AC Task Force to address such infractions and ensure a secure and congenial voyage for legitimate travelers, railway authorities disclosed on Saturday.
Elucidating on the Task Force, Dr. Swapnil Nila, Chief Public Relations Officer of Central Railway, conveyed to ETV Bharat, “The AC Task Force embodies a pioneering endeavor to suppress irregular commuting in AC and Premier Class carriages of Suburban trains.”
This Task Force will comprise personnel from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) along with ticket inspectors to confront individuals engaging in irregular travel on local trains. Commuters will have the avenue to lodge complaints via a designated WhatsApp helpline.
“The Central Railway caters to approximately 3.3 million passengers daily through its 1810 services, operating on a daily basis, including 66 AC local services that transport approximately 78,327 passengers each day. The reception from commuters for the AC local services has been overwhelmingly positive, owing to the advantages they offer in terms of safety and comfort during travel,” remarked a senior railway official.
A designated WhatsApp helpline has been instituted to provide aid to commuters during peak hours. This endeavor aims to furnish immediate assistance and redress grievances pertaining to irregular commuting in AC local trains and premier carriages. In instances where immediate assistance cannot be provided, inspections will be conducted the following day to address the issue, as conveyed by the Chief Public Relations Officer.
Furthermore, a Special Monitoring Team has been constituted to oversee matters pertaining to irregular commuting in AC local trains and premier carriages and ensure their resolution. It is imperative to note that the dedicated helpline is strictly for messaging concerns on the provided number and no voice calls will be entertained on the same, stated the railways.
This novel initiative of the WhatsApp complaint helpline assures commuters that their concerns are merely a message away, whether it involves reporting unauthorized commuters or addressing any disruptions or other issues encountered by passengers, railway authorities affirmed.
The Central Railway implored commuters to avail themselves of this WhatsApp Complaint helpline facility and contribute towards the railways’ endeavor to furnish safe and comfortable travel to its passengers, as per the railway authorities.
