In a recent declaration, Congress figurehead Rahul Gandhi took a jab at the ruling BJP-led administration at the core of the nation, asserting their purported close affiliations with tycoon Gautam Adani, who stands accused of orchestrating a coal scandal within India, as per a report released by a foremost English financial periodical.
Gandhi, in his social media post, included a snapshot of the aforementioned article alongside a concise annotation, spotlighting, “A monumental coal swindle has been unearthed within the BJP regime. Via this enduring malpractice, Adani, a close confidant of Modi ji, has amassed billions of rupees by peddling substandard coal at an exorbitant markup, thereby burdening the general populace who, from their own coffers, foot the bill through inflated electricity tariffs. Will the Prime Minister elucidate how many machinations were employed to hush the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and Income Tax department regarding this overt corruption? Following the 4th of June, the Indian administration will launch a comprehensive inquiry into this colossal malfeasance and meticulously account for every penny filched from the public purse.”
The social media post garnered a spectrum of responses, with certain netizens rallying behind Gandhi while others castigating him. One commentator demanded, “The public clamors for a reckoning of all the malfeasances perpetrated by your (Congress) cohorts, and the restitution of public funds.” Meanwhile, another commenter prognosticated, “Alexa, what is the state of the nation? This time, the INDI Alliance will clinch 300 seats, relegating the BJP to a mere 150.”
Previously, during a campaign rally convened in Telangana’s Karimnagar on the 8th of May, Prime Minister Narendra Modi leveled allegations against Gandhi, asserting that he had conspicuously ceased referencing industrial magnates Gautam Adani and Mukesh Ambani since the announcement of the 2024 Indian Lok Sabha elections. Modi further insinuated that the venerable political party had received “a tempo brimming with riches” from these industrialists.
“Dear comrades, over the past quinquennium, you may have discerned the Congress scion (in reference to Rahul Gandhi) incessantly parroting a particular refrain upon rousing from slumber. However, since the Rafale imbroglio was grounded, he has commenced intoning a fresh supplication. For eons, he incessantly reiterated the refrain—captains of industry, captains of industry, captains of industry—whereupon he gradually transitioned to intoning Ambani-Adani, Ambani-Adani, Ambani-Adani. Nonetheless, since the electoral clarion call resounded, he has abstained from vilifying Ambani-Adani,” expounded the Prime Minister.
