Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) Representative Sanjay Raut embarked on a vehement criticism directed towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who commenced a visit to Maharashtra on Monday for the Lok Sabha election campaign.
Expressing his views on PM Modi and Yogi’s campaign in Chandrapur, Sanjay Raut remarked that despite a decade in power, they still resort to soliciting votes. “This portrays a dismal state for the BJP. The prevailing conditions in Uttar Pradesh are bleak. Yogi Adityanath ought to direct his attention there. Yet, they persist in their visit here. This, in itself, constitutes a breach of the code of conduct,” he asserted.
Addressing the press at his domicile in Mumbai, Representative Sanjay Raut endeavored to clarify the alleged discrepancies in seat allocation, stating that the dispute in the contested constituency has now been resolved. “Henceforth, on a propitious day, we shall convene a joint press briefing at Shivalay at 11 o’clock. Esteemed figures such as Uddhav Thackeray, Sharad Pawar, Nana Patole will grace the occasion,” he disclosed.
Raut affirmed that there is no fault on their part, quite the opposite, no definitive decisions have been reached yet, and they will elucidate tomorrow on their intended course of action. Regarding Congress’ demand for the Sangli seat, Raut remarked, “Due to the activists’ influence, the leaders are compelled to compromise to some extent. Hence, we witnessed these disputes in certain quarters. However, no one is adopting an extreme stance. We shall deliberate comprehensively tomorrow. There are no discrepancies. Nana Patole, Vadettiwar advocate the Congress party’s stance. They are also championing the cause of Mahavikas Aghadi.”
With the first phase of voting looming, the discord over seat allocation within the Mahavikas Aghadi remains unresolved. The Thackeray faction and the Congress are currently embroiled in stark disagreements over the Sangli Lok Sabha constituency candidate. Vishwajit Kadam, the Congress MLA from Sangli, is persistently journeying to Delhi and engaging in discussions with senior Congress officials in the state.
The Thackeray faction has put forth Chandrahar Patil’s candidacy for the Sangli seat, and Representative Sanjay Raut, representing the Thackeray faction, is urging all constituent parties of the Mahavikas Aghadi to unite and rally behind their party’s nominee. In light of this, Representative Sanjay Raut has announced that the Mahavikas Aghadi’s joint press briefing on Tuesday, coinciding with Gudhipadwa, will put an end to these speculations.
