In New Delhi, a total of 80 educational institutions, including the Dwarka branch of the Delhi Public School, were subjected to a telephonic threat concerning the presence of an explosive device on their premises, causing considerable distress among both students and faculty members, as reported by the authorities.

Contrary to the alarming situation, the Ministry of Home Affairs dismissed these threats targeting schools in the capital and its adjacent regions as baseless, urging the public to remain calm. The ministry emphasized that law enforcement agencies are diligently adhering to prescribed protocols in response to the situation.

A spokesperson for the ministry reassured, “There is no cause for alarm. The correspondence appears to be a fabrication. The Delhi Police, in collaboration with security agencies, are taking requisite measures in accordance with established procedures.”

The initiation of precautionary measures ensued following the receipt of information about a purported explosive device at the Delhi Public School, Dwarka. Swift action was taken as the Delhi Police, Bomb Disposal Squad, and fire brigades promptly mobilized to conduct thorough searches of the premises.

In addition to the aforementioned institution, several other schools across Delhi were subjected to similar threatening communications via electronic mail, necessitating the evacuation of students. Specialized units including bomb detection teams, disposal squads, and personnel from the Delhi Fire Service were swiftly dispatched to conduct comprehensive search operations at the affected schools.

According to an official from the Delhi Fire Service, numerous schools have reported receiving threats, a trend that has been ongoing since yesterday. Preliminary investigations have revealed a consistent pattern in the delivery of these threatening communications, indicating a systematic approach.

“The receipt of bomb threats by multiple schools is currently under investigation. We are diligently pursuing all leads to ascertain the veracity of these threats,” affirmed a police spokesperson. As a precautionary measure, all schools within the Delhi-NCR region that have received threat emails have been temporarily closed, with students being safely escorted off the premises and standard operating procedures being diligently followed, authorities confirmed.

Parents were promptly informed of the situation and the precautionary measures implemented by the schools to ensure the safety of their wards. Communication addressed to parents detailed the receipt of a threatening email and outlined the immediate dispersal of students as a precautionary measure. Parents were urged to promptly collect their children from designated bus stops, with regular updates provided by bus route coordinators.

“We received notification from the school regarding an unforeseen circumstance necessitating the closure of the school for the day. Subsequently, we learned of the bomb threat. Although distressing, it was later confirmed that the threat was unfounded, similar to recent incidents at other institutions,” remarked Praveen, a concerned parent.
