In the aftermath of the revelation regarding the leakage of ARO’s domain ID password on the Election Commission’s ENCORE portal, Kaithal SDM and ARO Brahma Prakash faced immediate suspension on Saturday, as disclosed by officials on Sunday.
The unfolding events saw ARO initiating the suspension of four computer operators and a junior programmer in response to the emerging issue on Friday.
Following a complaint lodged by Sushil Kumar Gupta, a candidate from the INDIA bloc, legal proceedings were initiated under pertinent sections of the IT Act.
A senior law enforcement officer informed that a resident of Kaithal named Shivang, working as a computer operator, along with his associate Praveen, were apprehended late Saturday evening. “The duo is slated for presentation before a special court, where we shall pursue their custody,” added the senior police official.
Expressing dismay, Dr. Sushil Gupta, the India Alliance candidate for the Kurukshetra Lok Sabha, remarked, “This occurrence casts doubt upon the integrity of electoral processes within the nation. It appears to be a meticulously orchestrated plot. The Election Commission must respond sternly to this transgression. A formal grievance will be communicated to the Chief Electoral Officer of Haryana concerning this entire episode.”
District authorities conveyed, “The application submitted by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for organizing a rally was rebuffed by the district administration, alongside the submission containing derogatory content. Upon detection by the district administration, ARO Brahma Prakash promptly took action, suspending five personnel. ARO correspondingly dispatched a missive to the police, urging an exhaustive investigation into the matter.”
Concurrently, authorization has been granted for Aam Aadmi Party’s scheduled events. In his filed complaint, Brahma Prakash detailed that on April 3, an online petition was lodged by Shubham Rana, soliciting permission for a political assembly spanning two days, which was subsequently annulled through unauthorized access.
