Amidst the dark veil of night, an unforeseen calamity befell the Sabarmati-Agra superfast locomotive, leading to the derailing of four coaches in the vicinity of Madar railway station, nestled within the expanse of Rajasthan’s Ajmer. Reports indicate that a confluence of circumstances culminated in the unfortunate incident, resulting in minor injuries sustained by several passengers subsequent to a collision with a cargo-bearing train.
The unfortunate event transpired in the vicinity of Madar Railway Station at the stroke of 1.04 am, when the formidable force of locomotion embodied in train designation 12548, known colloquially as the Sabarmati- Agra Cantt Superfast Express, encountered an unexpected rendezvous with a freight-laden locomotive.
Despite the valiant efforts of the locomotive’s pilot, who swiftly engaged the emergency braking mechanism, the inevitability of the collision could not be forestalled, as corroborated by reliable sources. In an official statement issued by a spokesperson of the North Western Railway, it was affirmed, “On this auspicious date of March 18, at precisely 01.04 am, the indomitable train identified by its numerical nomenclature as 12548, known to traverse the path from Sabarmati to Agra Cantt, succumbed to a state of derailment in close proximity to the domicile signal stationed at Madar, proximate to the vicinity of Ajmer. Regrettably, the locomotive and four of its accompanying general coaches bore the brunt of the derailment. However, it is with a sense of relief that we confirm the absence of any loss of life. Swift and decisive measures have been undertaken by railway authorities in response to this exigency, with personnel promptly dispatched to the scene of the incident. Furthermore, the arrival of an accident relief train at Madar signals the commencement of efforts towards the restoration of the disrupted track, in keeping with our unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of our esteemed passengers.”
