In the midst of the political upheaval in Karnataka regarding the purported sex video controversy involving JD-S luminary Prajwal Revanna, the scion of former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) delving into the matter has served a summons to the accused, mandating his appearance for questioning within a span of 24 hours, as per sources.
Furthermore, a summons has been dispatched to JD-S legislator H.D. Revanna, the paternal figure of Prajwal Revanna who stands as the secondary accused in the affair. On the morning of Tuesday, the JD-S took the step of suspending Prajwal Revanna, the incumbent party MP and aspirant for the Lok Sabha seat from Hassan, following the initiation of an SIT inquiry into allegations of sexual misconduct leveled against him by the Karnataka Congress government.
The summons explicitly instructs both Prajwal Revanna and his father H.D. Revanna to make themselves available before SP Seema Latkar within the allotted timeframe. The National Commission for Women (NCW), upon assuming jurisdiction over the matter on Tuesday, has demanded a comprehensive report from the Karnataka Police within a window of three days.
Expressing concern in a missive, NCW Chairperson Rekha Sharma implored Karnataka DGP Alok Mohan to undertake swift and decisive measures to apprehend the absconding accused.
Nevertheless, the kin of Prajwal Revanna assert his readiness to cooperate with the investigating authority whenever summoned.
