Amidst the global celebration of Father’s Day today, Sudhir Bhai Goyal from Ujjain finds this occasion exceptionally poignant. His significance stems from being acknowledged as the patriarch in the Aadhaar records of approximately 305 orphaned children and elderly individuals. Leading Ankitgram Sevadham Sansthan, an ashram he founded, Sudhir shelters over 800 vulnerable souls, encompassing both the elderly and children in dire need. His transformative encounter with Mother Teresa back in 1989 left an indelible imprint on Sudhir, propelling him towards a quest for societal betterment.

Subsequently, Sudhir Bhai Goyal allocated 14 acres of his land in Ambodia village, situated 15 kilometers from Ujjain city, to establish his ashram. He has been steadfastly dedicated to serving the underprivileged since its inception. At present, the ashram is home to 830 helpless elderly and orphaned children, many of whom grapple with mental and physical disabilities. Over the past 35 years, the ashram has laid to rest more than 3,000 departed souls while facilitating the rehabilitation of over 5,000 individuals, reuniting them with their families.

In his noble endeavor, Sudhir Goyal finds unwavering support from his wife, Kanta Goyal, and his daughters, Gori Goyal and Monica Goyal, all actively involved in the ashram’s operations. A testament to his commitment, Sudhir has erected a 300-square-foot pavilion, where he expresses his desire for his final rites to be performed. A sizable portrait of himself adorns the premises, symbolizing his enduring aspiration to serve even beyond the realms of mortality, perpetuating his legacy of altruism.
