Following the release of a series of videos by AAP purporting to reveal the veracity of MP Swati Maliwal’s assault allegations, the MP contended on Saturday that AAP had formatted the phone and obliterated the entire footage.
On Saturday, AAP shared several videos on its X account, declaring, “This video unveils the truth behind Swati Maliwal’s accusations.” The voice-over in the video released by AAP alleges that Maliwal orchestrated a drama.
In her post on X, Maliwal recounted, “First, Bibhav assaulted me savagely. He slapped and kicked me. When I managed to escape and called 112, he went outside, summoned security, and commenced filming. I was crying out, informing the security personnel that Bibhav had brutally assaulted me. That entire lengthy segment of the video was excised. Only a 50-second clip was shared, captured when I was exasperated with explaining to the security.”
“Now they have formatted the phone and erased the entire video? The CCTV footage is also missing! Even conspiracies have their limits!” she further remarked. Previously, AAP leader Atishi claimed that Maliwal was dispatched to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence by the Bharatiya Janata Party as part of a plot to level “false allegations” against the AAP leader.
“Since Arvind Kejriwal has secured bail, the BJP is unsettled. Consequently, the BJP devised a conspiracy, under which Swati Maliwal was sent to Arvind Kejriwal’s house on the morning of May 13. Swati Maliwal was the figurehead and pawn of this conspiracy. She arrived there unannounced and without an appointment. They aimed to incriminate the CM, but he was not present at the time and thus avoided entrapment,” Atishi stated during a press briefing.
Former Principal Secretary of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Bibhav Kumar, has been remanded to five-day police custody by Tis Hazari Court on May 19. He was presented before the court in connection with the Swati Maliwal ‘Assault’ case on May 18. Bibhav Kumar was apprehended by Delhi Police on May 18 in relation to the alleged assault on AAP MP Swati Maliwal.
