Adilabad, Telangana: An intriguing trend has been emerging in Telangana lately, where an increasing number of marriages involving women from foreign lands have been documented. These unions all sprouted from romance sparked at workplaces abroad, ultimately leading the couples to solemnize their unions in India.
Each couple exchanged vows in Telangana, adhering to the region’s traditional customs and rites. The local government currently extends benefits and incentives for couples entering into interfaith and intercultural marriages. These unions invariably involve individuals from diverse religious backgrounds.
First, Raju from the historic Bellampally village in Manchiryala district united with Diana from London in a ceremony steeped in traditional Telangana customs. They married according to Hindu rites in Bellampally. Having lived and conducted business in London for three years, Raju formed a connection with Diana that blossomed into love, resulting in their marriage.
Diana expressed a desire for an Indian-style wedding, which was duly orchestrated. Despite their disparate backgrounds, their mutual respect and affection are unwavering.
In another case, Abhinay Reddy of Adilabad, a software engineer residing in Chicago since 2015, found love with Taylor Diane Marsolek, a local resident and colleague. They convinced their families of their intentions and eventually united in matrimony in Hyderabad, adhering to Hindu customs.
“Language and nationality pose no obstacle to love. Marriage unites two souls,” they shared.
In yet another story, a young man from Adilabad district, Ravikumar from Chintaguda village in Gudihatnoor mandal, married a woman from Myanmar. His spouse, Jin Nehu Thien (also known as Catherine), hails from Myanmar, and the two met while working in the hotel management sector in Qatar. Their affection grew, leading them to inform their families and, with their blessings, exchange rings and marry in a Christian ceremony at St. Thomas Church in Chintaguda.
“We share a deep understanding and look forward to spending our lives together,” the newlyweds remarked.
