In Rajnandgaon, a senior duo, their progeny, and a juvenile granddaughter met their demise when a rapidly moving lorry collided with them while they were stationed on the periphery of a thoroughfare in Chhattisgarh’s Rajnandgaon district on Tuesday, authorities disclosed. The tragic event unfolded circa 5 pm within Tilai village situated along the Rajnandgaon-Khairagarh interstate highway, confirmed a law enforcement spokesperson.
The casualties were delineated as Puna Ram Sinha (65), his consort Ganeshiya (60), their offspring Teejbati (40), and the latter’s progeny Pallavi (15), he communicated. Based on preliminary intelligence, the high-velocity lorry struck them whilst they were positioned along the roadside, awaiting the arrival of a communal conveyance, he explicated.
Subsequent to the incident, the lorry operator absconded from the scene, accelerating away from the area, the official elucidated. Following notification, a police contingent mobilized to the location, and the cadavers were relocated for post-mortem examination, he confirmed.
