Ranchi (Jharkhand): A tragic collision in the Kathitand vicinity resulted in at least three fatalities and eight injuries on Monday, according to law enforcement reports.

Senior Superintendent of Police Chandan Sinha stated that a gathering of devotees was journeying in a pickup truck to offer devotions near Ratu Talab. “The vehicle’s operator lost command, striking the median barrier. Consequently, the passengers were propelled into oncoming traffic and were fatally struck by a passing tractor,” Sinha revealed.

He added that the departed were natives of Chatakpur village in Ratu, while the injured received immediate medical attention at a nearby healthcare facility. “Two individuals remain in a precarious condition,” he noted.

The Senior Police Officer confirmed that legal proceedings under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code have been initiated in relation to the incident. The police conveyed that the deceased’s remains have been sent for autopsy at a state hospital, to be released to their relatives once examinations conclude.

In a separate occurrence on Friday, April 12, a car plummeted into a ravine within Kotseri Panchayat, Anni in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh, claiming four lives.
