In New Delhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, a prominent figure in the Congress party, issued a fervent call on Tuesday, urging the populace to participate robustly in the third phase of the ongoing Lok Sabha polls. She emphasized the pivotal nature of this electoral process, portraying it as a crucial endeavor aimed at safeguarding the principles of democracy and upholding the sanctity of the Constitution.
The electoral exercise encompasses 93 constituencies distributed across 11 states and Union territories. Addressing the electorate in a Hindi communication on an undisclosed platform, Priyanka Gandhi articulated, “Esteemed citizens of our nation, this electoral juncture signifies a paramount opportunity to fortify the foundations of our democratic ethos and preserve the foundational tenets enshrined within our Constitution. It serves as a platform to combat entrenched challenges such as unprecedented unemployment, pervasive inflationary pressures, systemic malfeasance, and the looming specter of economic turbulence.”
She underscored the significance of each individual ballot, urging voters to deliberate earnestly and cast their votes en masse, exercising their discretionary prerogatives. Priyanka Gandhi implored the electorate to cast their ballots with an eye towards securing a brighter future for themselves and their progeny.
The electoral landscape in the third phase features a plethora of contenders, exceeding 1,300 in number, with approximately 120 women among them. An expansive electorate, comprising 17.24 crore individuals, inclusive of 8.39 crore women, holds the eligibility to partake in this phase. The electoral apparatus has erected 1.85 lakh polling stations, overseen by a workforce of 18.5 lakh officials, to facilitate the voting process.
