In the resumption of intellectual discourse, the India International Science Festival (IISF) emerges after a hiatus of three solar cycles. The impending rendezvous, heralded as the ninth iteration—dubbed IISF 2023, is slated to commence on the morrow, precisely Wednesday, January 17, 2024. The epicenter of this scientific extravaganza, orchestrated by the amalgamation of intellectual prowess from the Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CISR), Department of Biotechnology, Department of Space, and Department of Atomic Energy, shall be Faridabad, Haryana. This knowledge carnival is earmarked to unfold its intellectual tapestry from January 17 to January 20.

 

The antecedent manifestation of IISF transpired in the waning days of December 2021, solidifying its tradition since the inaugural event in 2015.

The Translational Health Science and Technology Institute, coexisting harmoniously with the Regional Centre for Biotechnology in the geographical confines of Faridabad, boasting a collaborative campus, shall assume the mantle of hosting IISF 2023.

As is customary annually, the forthcoming IISF of this year shall be a crucible of diverse events, drawing students from every nook and cranny of the nation to engage in a plethora of scientific pursuits. These encompass but are not confined to disciplines such as physics, chemistry, biology, and mathematics. The assemblage will include a mosaic of participants, ranging from scientists, innovators, and citizens to policymakers, industries, startups, and fervent science communicators. This convocation promises interactive sessions delving into an array of subjects, including but not limited to nuclear medicine, celestial advancements, agricultural sciences, molecular biology, and biotechnology.

 

Among the eminent personalities set to grace the festival are S. Somanath, presiding as the Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO); Dr. N Kalaiselvi, holding the esteemed position of Director General at CSIR; Professor Ajay Kumar Sood, serving as the Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India; and Dr. Jitendra Singh, the Union Minister of Science and Technology.
