In the dimming hours of yesterday, a recent bride, Meena Bhatt of Takana in Pithoragarh, met her untimely demise, while her spouse, Neeraj Bhatt, and seven others sustained injuries when their vehicle, traversing from Baitadi to Jhulaghat in Pithoragarh, careened into a trench in Nepal’s Baitadi precinct.
The tragic event unfolded as the vehicle’s operator faltered in control, leading to the fatal descent into the chasm. Tragically, Meena succumbed to her injuries on the site, while the wounded are presently under medical care at Baitadi Hospital, predominantly comprising Nepalese nationals.
As the dusk of sorrow envelopes the kin of the departed, the authorities, including the Nepal Police, are delving into the circumstances surrounding the mishap. Surveillance footage from adjacent locales is under scrutiny, and the passengers are slated for interrogation, elucidated an official.
Concurrently, a somber aura shrouds the household of the deceased. Following the requisite post-mortem examination, the mortal remains will be consigned to her bereaved family’s custody, as affirmed by authorities.
