The video of the 41 laborers stuck in the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarkashi surfaced on Tuesday, showing them inside the tunnel. A six-inch wide pipeline was inserted into the tunnel through which food and water were sent to the workers. A camera was also placed inside this pipe, revealing the conditions of the workers who have been inside the tunnel for the past ten days.
On Monday, a rescue operation team inserted a six-inch pipe to send food to the laborers. Additionally, an endoscopic flexible camera was sent through the same pipe to assess the workers’ condition and communicate with them using walkie-talkies to boost their morale.
The video of the laborers stuck in the tunnel shows them gathered together. The rescue team informed them that they could be seen from there and urged them to approach the microphone attached to the camera to communicate. The relief is that all laborers appear to be safe.
Today marks the tenth day of the rescue operation for the laborers trapped in the tunnel. On Monday, food including khichdi, lentils, and other supplies were sent. Chef Ravi Roy mentioned that food for 750 grams per person was prepared. Alongside khichdi, they also sent juices of oranges, apples, and lemons through the pipe along with mobile phones and chargers.

Efforts are being made to create a pathway through vertical drilling to help the workers trapped in the tunnel. Multiple agencies including the NDRF, SDRF, and others are working at a war-footing level to explore all options to rescue the workers from the tunnel. Furthermore, a tunnel expert from abroad arrived on Monday to assist in the rescue efforts. Vertical drilling machines are being used to create a path on the upper part of the mountain above the tunnel.
The collaborative efforts and innovative approaches demonstrate the dedication to ensure the safe rescue of the laborers trapped in the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarkashi.
