Amidst the nocturnal hours, addressing the declarations of the Congress and Samajwadi Party, Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa announced via ‘X’ that an FIR has been lodged concerning the incident at Nayagaon police station in Etah district.
Rinwa further divulged that an individual has been apprehended and directives were issued to initiate disciplinary measures against all members of the polling party.
“Repolling has been proposed to the Election Commission of India for the implicated polling station,” he stated. In a separate missive on X, Gandhi remarked, “Foreseeing its impending defeat, the BJP is attempting to subvert democracy by exerting undue influence on governmental apparatus to nullify the popular verdict.”
The Congress anticipates that all officials engaged in electoral duties will uphold their constitutional obligations despite the coercive pressure from those in power, he asserted. “Otherwise, once the INDIA bloc ascends to governance, such stringent measures will be enacted that future transgressors will be deterred from ever contemplating a breach of the constitutional oath.”
Sharing a video on X from his official account, Yadav stated, “Should the Election Commission deem this improper, it must undertake corrective actions. Otherwise, the BJP’s booth committee essentially functions as a plundering committee.”
