Prime Minister Narendra Modi implored citizens on Saturday to turn out in robust numbers for the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha election, underscoring the significance of every single vote. He emphasized that democracy flourishes when the populace is engaged and proactive in the electoral process, as conveyed in a post on ‘X’.

“I fervently appeal to all those participating in the 6th phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections to cast their votes in substantial numbers. Every vote holds weight, ensure yours does too! Democracy prospers when its citizens are involved and proactive in the electoral proceedings. I especially encourage female and young voters to vote in large numbers,” the prime minister added.

A total of 58 constituencies from six states and two union territories are poised for elections in this sixth phase, with over 11.13 crore voters exercising their franchise to determine the fate of 889 candidates. This includes two former Chief Ministers – Manohar Lal Khattar, the BJP candidate from Karnal, and Mehbooba Mufti, the PDP nominee from Anantnag-Rajouri.

The sixth phase of Lok Sabha polls encompasses eight seats in Bihar, all 10 seats in Haryana, one seat in Jammu and Kashmir, four in Jharkhand, all seven seats in Delhi, six in Odisha, 14 in Uttar Pradesh, and eight in West Bengal.

Additionally, 42 assembly constituencies in Odisha will also undergo polls in this phase. The assembly elections in the state are being conducted concurrently with the Lok Sabha elections.
