Kasargod: A tragic incident befell in Kerala’s Kasargod on August 15, the place a priest died of electrocution on the Toddler Jesus Church in Mulleria. The incident befell when the priest was taking down the nationwide flag after hoisting it within the night. The deceased priest has been recognized as Father Kudilil Mathew (30).
In accordance with the police, Father Kudilil was taking down the nationwide flag at sundown as per the flag protocol, when the iron flagpole tilted and hit the electrical wire. The incident befell round 6 pm. A police officer mentioned that the priest instinctively grabbed the pole to straighten it and died of electrical shock. Assistant priest Sabin Joseph, who was standing subsequent to Father Kudilil, fell away because of the electrical shock.
Parish members mentioned that Pastor Sabin Joseph is admitted in a hospital in Mangaluru and his situation is secure. Father Kudilil was rushed to Mulleria Cooperative Hospital, however he was declared lifeless. He took over as parish priest in Kasargod district one and a half years in the past.
