Prayagraj: An enigmatic event unfolded in the district of Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, as the lifeless forms of a male and female constable were uncovered under murky conditions.

This unsettling occurrence emerged within the Shahganj police station precinct of Prayagraj. An authority disclosed that the remains of the male constable, Rajesh, were located within the chamber of the female constable’s leased dwelling, while Priya Tiwari, the female constable, was discovered lifeless upon the bed.

Rajesh served in the ACP Kotwali office in Vaishnav, whereas Priya Tiwari was stationed at Prayagraj’s tourist police department. It appears Priya had secured a temporary stay in Minhajpur of Shahganj area for the evening, while Rajesh resided in his barracks.

When Rajesh failed to appear for his duty, his absence triggered a nocturnal search by the police personnel. They proceeded to Priya’s lodging and attempted to gain entry but found the door latched from inside. After alerting superiors, they managed to force entry and stumbled upon Rajesh’s body in the room, with Priya’s on the bed, according to the official.

The occurrence has cast a pall over the police force and the surrounding community. Police and forensic teams have initiated an in-depth examination of the case, sending the bodies for autopsy. Families of the deceased have been notified. Police remarked that clarity will be achieved only when the families arrive and post-mortem reports provide more insights.
