Regard to Congress figure Rahul Gandhi’s endeavor toward seizing authority, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya articulated on Monday that he ought to apprehend the nonexistence of an opportunity for the zenith post until the year 2047. The seasoned BJP luminary further directed a satirical remark at Congress concerning the procrastination in declaring nominees for Amethi and Rae Bareli, articulating that the party exhibits such trepidation that it has failed to designate candidates for what they traditionally deemed their “inheritance locales,” illustrating their dearth of assurance even in the Gandhi lineage.
During an exclusive colloquy with PTI, Maurya expounded that the populace is disinclined to confer their mandate to Congress, having witnessed how the venerable party precipitated the nation’s decline with malfeasance during its tenure. “Until 2047, there exists no vacancy,” Maurya reiterated, when prompted regarding whether Rahul Gandhi should commence preparations for the 2029 Lok Sabha elections.
Maurya delineated Gandhi’s fervor to ascend to the premiership as palpable through his incessant invocation of the caste element, yet he demonstrated scant regard for OBCs, SCs, or STs, Maurya noted. “He is eager to secure the premier’s mantle, yet his endeavors are destined to falter. All his contentions lack substance, and his OBC narrative has already been debunked,” asserted the BJP luminary.
He posited that the nation has now transitioned into the ‘shatabdi kaal’ subsequent to the culmination of the ‘Amrit Kaal,’ and during this epoch, “the populace is unwilling to entrust the nation into the hands of Congress. It’s owing to the populace placing reliance on Congress for 60 years and witnessing the repercussions during its governance.”
“If anyone has precipitated the nation’s decline and ensnared it in the quagmire of malfeasance, it’s Congress. Hence, I assert that Congress is the progenitor of malfeasance,” Maurya accused. “Irrespective of his endeavors, nobody can impede the lotus (the BJP’s electoral symbol) from blossoming because we are toiling assiduously,” he asserted.
“It is veracious that Congress is presently gripped by trepidation. They seem to lack trust in either the Gandhi lineage, Rahul Gandhi, or Priyanka Vadra, who delivers grandiloquent addresses like — ‘I am a girl, I can fight.'” “All parties unveil the designations of eminent figures in their maiden roster,” he asserted. They erstwhile dubbed Amethi and Rae Bareli as their ancestral strongholds, yet they have yet to announce their nominees.”
“When we proclaim that we shall secure all the 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh, it does not emanate from our hubris or excessive confidence, but it is predicated on the groundwork that we have laid and the escalating popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he articulated. Elections are slated to commence on April 19, with the 80 seats of Uttar Pradesh being dispersed across all seven phases of balloting, concluding on June 1. Vote tabulation is scheduled for June 4. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP singularly clinched 62 seats in the state, whereas it garnered 71 in the 2014 polls. Its allies also secured some seats on both occasions.
Rahul Gandhi had triumphed from Amethi in 2014 but suffered defeat to the BJP’s Smriti Irani in 2019. His mother Sonia Gandhi secured victory from Rae Bareli in both 2014 and 2019, yet she has already proclaimed her intention not to contest this time around, kindling conjecture that her daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra may be fielded from either of the two constituencies.
