During a recent political rally in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made reference to Pakistan, stating that while citizens in the neighboring country struggle with hunger, “80 crore individuals in India receive complimentary provisions.” Speaking at a campaign event in support of Kanwar Singh Tanwar, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader also emphasized the widespread resonance of the saffron party’s “phir ek baar Modi sarkar” slogan.
Adityanath delivered his address prior to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech at the rally, which was organized in support of Tanwar, the BJP’s candidate from the Amroha constituency in the ongoing Lok Sabha polls.
“Pakistan, with a population of merely 23-24 crore, emerged after the partition in 1947 and presently grapples with hunger. This stands as an example — on one side lies Pakistan, while on the opposite end, there exists the commitment to providing free provisions to over 80 crore individuals,” articulated the chief minister.
In its Lok Sabha poll manifesto, the BJP has committed to continuing the distribution of free provisions to over 80 crore people across the nation for the subsequent five years. Adityanath proclaimed that “from every direction, only one rallying cry resounds — phir ek baar Modi sarkar.” Extending a warm welcome to Modi in Amroha, he commended the Prime Minister for ushering in transformative reforms in the nation.
Addressing the rally amid ongoing polling in eight western Uttar Pradesh constituencies for the first phase of the Lok Sabha polls, Adityanath underscored that Amroha is scheduled for polls in the second phase on April 26. Tanwar secured victory in the Amroha seat in 2014 but faced defeat in 2019 at the hands of Danish Ali, who was then aligned with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). Ali is now contesting from Amroha on a Congress ticket.
Subsequently, Adityanath spoke at a political rally in Ghaziabad’s Modinagar, praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s endeavors to uplift farmers, which he likened to the aspirations of the late Bharat Ratna Chaudhary Charan Singh. Urging support for RLD candidate Rajkumar Sangwan in the Baghpat Lok Sabha constituency, Adityanath highlighted Modi’s initiatives to honor the ‘annadatas’ through schemes like the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, emphasizing their multifaceted impact on national development.
The chief minister spotlighted India’s substantial advancements in social welfare initiatives, citing that over the preceding four years, 80 crore individuals have benefited from complimentary provisions, a stark contrast to the dire hunger affecting 23 crore individuals in Pakistan.
“When we elect competent leaders, the outcomes are invariably positive,” remarked Adityanath. Reflecting on the Surya Tilak of Lord Shri Ram on the occasion of Ram Navami, he expressed pride in its national significance. Adityanath criticized the Samajwadi Party, BSP, and Congress, accusing them of posing security threats in western UP.
He noted that under their governance, neither women nor businessmen felt secure, and even farmers’ tube wells were uprooted from their fields. “Our administration has introduced a measure to supply complimentary electricity to 15 lakh private tube wells. This decision was made to realize Chaudhary (Charan Singh) Saheb’s vision,” he stated.
Drawing attention to past administrations known for inciting unrest, Adityanath contrasted this with the current era marked by the absence of such turmoil or curfews, with Kanwar Yatras being celebrated grandly. “We have firmly communicated that those endangering the safety of women and businessmen will be held accountable,” affirmed Adityanath. RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary was also in attendance at this gathering.
