Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party, asserted on Thursday that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would face considerable challenges in securing even 140 seats in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. Mocking the NDA’s ambitious slogan of ‘Abki baar 400 paar’ (This time, crossing 400), Yadav remarked, “Their aspirations of surpassing 400 have evaporated. The populace is incensed to the point where the BJP’s success in clinching even 140 seats will be an arduous task.”
Yadav launched a verbal attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, suggesting that anxiety has begun to erode his composure. Accusing the BJP of sidelining agriculturalists while extending loan waivers exclusively to industrial magnates, Yadav pledged that agricultural loans would be annulled upon the establishment of the INDIA alliance government. Addressing a joint rally in support of Congress contender Virendra Chaudhary from Maharajganj, Yadav, the former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, condemned the BJP administration for purportedly orchestrating leaks of recruitment examination papers, a ploy to perpetuate unemployment and undermine affirmative action. “We shall foster employment opportunities and rescind the Agniveer initiative for armed forces recruitment post the formation of an INDIA alliance government,” proclaimed Yadav.
“The grandiose spectacles they orchestrate are met with sparse attendance. It has come to my attention that government functionaries are being surreptitiously deployed at rallies in civilian attire to artificially inflate attendance,” he further alleged. Voting in Maharajganj is slated for June 1.
