In the hamlet of Kulcha Khurd situated in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly, a calamitous event unfolded on Tuesday, as approximately 10 individuals, including a handful of juveniles, suffered injuries consequent to the collapse of a portion of the ceiling of a veranda.

The mishap transpired while spectators observed the transfer of the mortal remains of an elderly female from an emergency vehicle onto the veranda. This unfortunate occurrence, which transpired under the jurisdiction of the Mirganj police station area, prompted the injured parties to be swiftly transported to the nearby communal medical facility for urgent care. The condition of four individuals remains perilous, as confirmed by medical sources.

Reports from law enforcement indicate that Chameli Devi, the mother of Gangacharan, had journeyed to her daughter’s matrimonial residence within the village, whereupon she met her demise. Her mortal remains had been conveyed from the hospital earlier in the day, with family members engaged in the process of unloading.

A multitude of onlookers, predominantly comprised of women and children, bore witness to this somber affair from the veranda, only to be unexpectedly beset by the collapse of the ceiling overhead. Pandemonium ensued in the vicinity, prompting neighbors to rush to their aid.

Among the injured were identified individuals such as Anjali, Shivani, Anita, Hrithik, Karthik, Jyoti, Usha, Priyal, and Suman. Of grave concern are the conditions of Karthik, Hrithik, Suman, and Anita, whose injuries are deemed critical.
