The situation escalated dramatically as a group proceeded to vandalize two-wheelers stationed along the roadside and subjected bikers to physical assault. Subsequently, they wreaked havoc on several shops, creating a tumult that sent shockwaves through the local populace. The malefactors intercepted motorcycle riders, coercing them to dismount.
A substantial contingent of law enforcement swiftly descended upon the scene to restore order, resorting, reportedly, to a lathi charge to disband the gathering.
According to reliable sources, the upheaval was orchestrated by adherents of an Islamic clergyman previously apprehended by the police. The detention was in connection with his issuance of a ‘jail bharo’ plea regarding the Gyanvapi case the day prior.
