In Raipur, the Chhattisgarh administration has opted to initiate a program granting an input subsidy of Rs 19,257 per acre to cultivators of paddy.
Additionally, a resolution has been reached to establish an entity dedicated to expeditious inquiry into specific cases concerning terrorism and Left Wing Extremism.
These determinations transpired during a ministerial assembly helmed by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai at the Mantralaya, as articulated in an official government communiqué.
In keeping with another commitment, echoing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s pre-election assurance, the cabinet has sanctioned the implementation of the ‘Krishak Unnati Yojana’ commencing the 2023-24 kharif season for the betterment of the state’s agrarians. The program seeks to augment farmers’ income, crop output, and efficiency, thereby curbing cultivation expenses. As delineated, farmers will receive an input subsidy at the rate of Rs 19,257 per acre based on their paddy transactions.
Simultaneously, the cabinet greenlit the establishment of a State Investigation Agency (SIA) for the swift and efficient scrutiny and litigation of specific instances linked to terrorism and Left Wing Extremism within the state. The SIA is slated to function as the principal agency for coordination with the National Investigation Agency (NIA), with 74 novel positions, including that of a superintendent of police, being created for its operation.
Furthermore, official consent was granted for the formation of a dedicated department overseeing good governance and convergence. This department is envisioned to optimize the execution of the state government’s public welfare policies, ensure optimal resource utilization, and promptly address citizen grievances.
In a move mirroring NITI Ayog, the cabinet resolved to rename the Chhattisgarh State Planning Commission to the State Niti Ayog Chhattisgarh. Additionally, a strategic decision was made to constitute the Chhattisgarh Economic Advisory Council, alongside the implementation of the ‘National Education Policy 2020’ in the higher education department.
