In Noida, a young man aged 25 from Delhi met his demise shortly after engaging in a descent down a water chute within the precincts of a mall, stirring an inquiry by local authorities. Dhanjay Maheshwari, accompanied by four companions, ventured to the Entertainment City aquatic park housed within the Great India Place (GIP) Mall in Sector 38A, under the jurisdiction of Sector 39 police station, on a Sunday afternoon, as relayed by officials.

“In the wake of donning their attire and securing their possessions in designated repositories, the group proceeded directly to the chute. They commenced their descents one after the other, with Maheshwari experiencing a sudden onset of respiratory distress,” recounted a spokesperson for the police force. “Seeking respite, he settled upon the ground, yet his condition failed to ameliorate. Subsequently, he was transported to the nearby Kailash Hospital via an ambulance provided by the GIP Mall authorities, where medical professionals pronounced him deceased,” the spokesperson elaborated.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Noida) Manish Mishra disclosed that relatives of Maheshwari swiftly arrived in Noida following the incident, with arrangements being made to subject the deceased to a postmortem examination. Maheshwari resided in Adarsh Nagar, Shivaji Road Extension, Delhi.

In response to queries regarding the cause of death, Mishra stated, “Legal procedures have been instigated, and the deceased’s remains have been dispatched for autopsy, pending confirmation of the underlying cause.” Addressing allegations of neglect leveled against the mall’s management by the deceased’s family, the police official assured that thorough investigations into the claims are underway.
