In the region of Unnao, located in Uttar Pradesh, a veiled critique aimed at the BJP concerning Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent commentary on ‘Mangalsutra’ was delivered by SP luminary Dimple Yadav on Wednesday. She posed a pointed query to the party: “Who confiscated the Mangalsutra, a symbol of marital union, from the wives of soldiers who perished in the Pulwama tragedy?”
The leader of the Samajwadi Party was alluding to Modi’s assertions during an electoral gathering, where he alleged that if the Congress were to ascend to power, it would redistribute the wealth of the populace to favor Muslims. Modi referenced former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s proclamation that the minority community should have primary entitlement to the nation’s resources.
“At Banswara, Rajasthan, Modi declared, ‘They won’t even spare your ‘mangalsutra,'” remarked Yadav. Both the SP and Congress are allied under the opposition INDIA coalition, jointly contesting the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh.
“Those who raise the issue of the Mangalsutra should also address the sorrow of Pulwama. Our valiant soldiers were laid to rest, their wives bereft of their sacred marital symbol,” Yadav articulated during a rally held in support of SP candidate Annu Tandon in this locality.
“Let these individuals elucidate who orchestrated the Pulwama calamity? What measures were taken by the administration in response?” Dimple Yadav, wife of SP leader Akhilesh Yadav, articulated, refraining from direct mention of any specific entities.
Over 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel met their demise when a convoy they were traveling in was ambushed in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, in the run-up to the general elections of February 2019.
Yadav, the incumbent MP representing Mainpuri, castigated the Modi administration for depriving the youth of employment opportunities. Presently, the nation is ensnared in a struggle to uphold democratic principles. Various segments of society are being subjected to intimidation tactics by the Enforcement Directorate, yet none are being accorded due respect. The nation’s riches are being concentrated among a select few capitalists, she lamented.
Further, Yadav graced the nomination rally of the Unnao SP nominee, urging the populace to ensure her triumph in the forthcoming election from this constituency.
