In Muzaffarnagar, situated in Uttar Pradesh, a tragic incident unfolded as a pedagogue met his demise due to a fatal altercation with a head constable from the Uttar Pradesh Police, occurring within the precincts of the Civil Lines area, as per an official report on Monday.
The deceased individual, identified as Dharmendra Kumar, served as a member of a delegation dispatched by the educational authorities from Varanasi. Their mission entailed the transportation of examination scripts belonging to the Uttar Pradesh Board to the vicinity of the local SD Inter College. Superintendent of Police (City), Satyanarain Parjapat, disclosed that accompanying Kumar were another educator along with two auxiliary personnel of the fourth class, along with a contingent from the Varanasi police force.
The sequence of events leading to the fatal encounter transpired on the night of Sunday, as both delegations awaited the unsealing of the college gates. It was during this interlude that an altercation between Kumar and the head constable, Chander Prakash, unfolded within the confines of their vehicle. In a tragic turn of events, Prakash resorted to discharging his official firearm, resulting in grievous harm to Kumar, as stated by the official.
Following the distressing incident, Kumar was expeditiously conveyed to the district hospital, where regrettably, his demise was confirmed. Subsequently, the mortal remains were dispatched for post-mortem analysis, and legal proceedings have been initiated against the implicated head constable. Furthermore, all individuals present within the vehicle have been apprehended for investigative purposes, as asserted by the Superintendent of Police.
